I’m a Creative who talks with his hands, thinks with everything else and doesn’t take anything too seriously, except kickass advertising and maybe my beard. I see ideas and opportunities in everything, am always looking for new ways to communicate and willing to give anything a go. I've spent the last few of years honing my skills working on brands across all categories including, but not limited to, Mastercard, Krispy Kreme, Lotterywest, Red Rooster, Taubmans, ANZ, Dove, L'Or, Amnesty International, Kellogg’s, Rexona and Chobani.
Outside of work I am a huge music fan with an '80s vinyl collection better than most teenage girls had in the '80s and a taste that covers all genres and decades. I am currently, albeit very slowly, learning to play the banjo as a first instrument because guitars are for hippies and I identify myself as more of a redneck.
I'm a film nerd and enjoy films that challenge and inspire but will never watch Requiem for a Dream again. I’m glad I did that one time. At 4am. But nope, never again. I also like getting behind the lens every now and then and taking snaps, some of which you can find here.
This is but a tiny glimpse into what I'm all about. Check out the business end here.

Stephen was a great guy to have in the creative department. He worked mainly on Mastercard with me but his art direction really started to shine when he worked on the Krispy Kreme 'Journey to Glazetopia' virtual reality film.
After having the pleasure of working with Stephen for a number of months at Naked, I can wholeheartedly recommend him for a full time or freelance Art Director position. I found him to be a relaxed and calming force in our department, but rest assured, Stephen is a real hard worker and his commitment to getting the best results out of the door is unwavering. I would describe him as a quiet achiever. During Stephen’s time with us he helped us win a number of pitches and his idea was picked for a Taubman’s campaign. Beyond ideation Stephen can execute really well and I found his graphic design background to be extremely useful. Stephen Hansen worked in a full time freelance capacity at The Brand Agency for 4 months from the 8th September 2014.
During that time Stephen displayed a level of creativity way beyond his years. Conceptually, he is very strong with ideas thought through in a strategic and insightful way. He has a good understanding of the creative process and in particular his understanding of digital platforms and integration is very good.
He was always punctual and worked long hours when required. Stephen needs to work on his 'craft', particularly typography but I'm sure that will come with time as will his presentation skills. He definitely has the passion and talent to succeed in this industry at the highest level.
Please contact me via email email@example.com if you require and further information.
Stephen Hansen was a student of mine during the 2013 Award School year. At the time, I was serving as the head of Award School here in WA, and also as creative director at 303Lowe Perth. This gave me the opportunity to observe Stephen closely as he spent six weeks working in our agency as an intern. During this time, Stephen put enthusiasm into his work and showed a good deal of maturity and respect for the creative process, especially for someone without any previous agency experience.
As Perth is a very small market, I believe Stephen would be better suited to a more diverse environment at this point in his career. He demonstrates a good ability for getting to the idea, understands the strategic side of creative thinking, and I am sure if given the opportunity, will add value to your department.
